Romeo and Juliet♥

Hello, sweets!
Sorry it's been so long....

In class right now, we are reading "The Tradgedy of Romeo and Juliet." I've been waiting my whole school 'career' to read this in high school. I love it.
If I could change my name to Juliet, I would. It's a beautiful name.
We all take turns reading. So far, I've read the famous Act 2 Scene 2, Juliet's part:

"O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,
And I'll no longer be a Capulet."

" 'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name,
And for that name which is no part of thee
Take all myself."

Also, we have an assignment where we have to go up in the front of the class and read a 10 line poem/part of the play by Shakespeare. We must read it with expression and emotion. A lot of people just chose couplets by Shakespeare..but I'm going to read Juliet's part again. It's one of the most well-known parts from the play. And I've already got it memorized.

After we read it, we're going to watch the movie! That is, the one with Leonardo in it. I can't wait!!:)

"Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean."

Another famous line.

If you think she is asking "Where are you at Romeo?", you're wrong.

"A pair of star crossed lovers." ♥

Older version.

Have you ever read Romeo and Juliet? Do you ever plan on it? What are your opinions?

xx,
~Abby~

Romeo & Juliet is pretty good. I'm not much into the classics, had to read this for school as well. Shakespeare sure did know his stuff though. I enjoy quite a few of his works. That Facebook image is amazing, lol.

Why are you Romeo? Asking why he is Romeo, the son of 'the enemy' basically; commonly mistaken for where are you romeo? Hurry up Romeo...! ( :

I enjoyed Romeo and Juliet, mostly for the hilarious puns and innuendos. Mercutio is my FAVORITE. The witty lines are fantastic.

Romeo and Juliet is one of my all-time favourite Shakespeare plays. I never studied it in school unfortunately, so I'll borrow it from the library.
Those photos are so great, especially the Facebook one.

I love that you pointed out she wasn't saying, "where are you, Romeo". I haven't read Romeo and Juliet yet (except a small play version), but I suppose I'll have to soon. I loved the pictures. =)
